Terms
What we are responsible for, and what we are not.
What we do. Better Builds introduces homeowners to builders we have verified. Verification means we checked the licence with the state regulator, sighted insurance, and re-checked trading status on a schedule — each on the date shown.
What we are not. We are not a builder, a building surveyor, a project manager or a legal adviser. We do not supervise work, hold funds, or become a party to your building contract.
Your contract is with the builder. Your rights, your warranty and your statutory protections run to the builder you sign with and the scheme in your state. We are not a guarantor of their work.
What a check does and does not mean. A verification is accurate as at the date shown. It is not a prediction. A builder that was solvent and licensed when we checked can cease to be either afterwards, which is why we re-check and why we publish dates.
Full terms to be drafted and reviewed by a lawyer before launch, including the per-state position on arranging domestic building work.
